LaserLand Announces HP5000 Pin and Removal Tool
Sylvan Lake, Mich. — LaserLand USA is pleased to announce the new pin and pin
removal tool for the HP5000. The LaserLand 5000-pin™ features a recessed head (Figs. 1 and 2) to aid
in removal. The 5000-pin is protected by patent number 5,390,002.
The new LaserLand tool for removal of OEM metal pins embedded in the toner cartridge is
also now available. Because the OEM pins are below the surface of the cartridge, they cannot be
removed with pliers. The PinPusher™ removes the pins from inside the cartridge. The
PinPusher (patent pending) may be used to remove the OEM pins before or after removing the
photoreceptor drum (Fig. 3).

LaserLand is also offering the BlackBeauty™ style UserFriendly™ recovery blade for
the HP5000 toner cartridge. The UserFriendly recovery blade does not require the use of an
installation tool, so labor required for remanufacturing the cartridge is reduced. After the protective liner is
easily peeled away, the recovery blade can be placed in the waste toner hopper. The recovery blade
is supported during installation by a built-in handle and stiffening device that are easily
removed. Previous recovery blades required cumbersome and time-consuming installation tools to handle
the thin, flexible component..
The UserFriendly recovery blade is ideal for both large production lines and small
remanufacturing operations.
The UserFriendly™ recovery blade is protected under U.S. patents Re 35,529 and
5,479,250. Other patents are pending.
To supplement the PinPounder, LaserLand offers the PinPopper™ utility tool (Fig. 4).
The PinPopper helps remove stubborn pins. The PinPopper is patent pending.
