Plastic Tooling Launches New Hopper Splitter System
Cary, N.C. — Plastic Tooling Corporation has launched
its new electrically powered Split-All machine. This splitter was developed as a result of customer demand for a device that could safely split a hopper
without damaging it, and do so economically. Rather than produce a separate splitter for each type of hopper, the
Split-All will work on several popular cartridges.
The new splitter utilizes a rotary cutting blade which precisely separates the hopper. The hopper
is positioned for cutting by placing it in a fixture. The fixture is screwed to a "car" which rides on rails past
the cutting blade. By simply changing the fixture,
several different hoppers can be split. The fixtures also
include a built-in safety guard which completely covers the blade while the cartridge is being cut. A set of
tools will be supplied with each fixture ordered. The tooling will make it easier for technicians to process the
hopper after it has been split. Included are a toner hopper fixture, a foam replacement fixture, and a funnel
for refilling the hopper. Split-All fixtures are currently available for the HP4000, the EX, and the WX.
Future releases should include the SX, NX, and HP5000.
Remanufacturers will appreciate the price of the Split-All system as well. It currently costs less than
any other electrically powered splitter. And only a small investment is required to add additional sets of tooling.
This system will allow many small remanufacturers
to add split hoppers to their shops.
