Static Control's Cartridge Training Classes Exceed Expectations
Sanford, NC Static Control Components' Imaging Training Center held its initial classes on November 20, 1998, offering an intensive full day, hands-on training format for the HP 4000/5000 and Pitney
Bowes
® 9800/9900. The classes help remanufacturers maximize productivity, sharpen trouble-shooting skills, and pre-plan production processes. The training center is completely equipped with a self-contained remanufacturing facility to provide a real-world production environment.
According to Bill Vogler, director of training and consulting services at SCC Imaging, the Training Center was begun in response to numerous customer requests for training, not just on remanufacturing specific cartridges but for many of the peripheral aspects of the business. "While remanufacturing is certainly first and foremost, we can't ignore other important components such as placement trends, cartridge valuations, testing, and production issues," said Vogler. "Because of this, the Training Center has been designed to incorporate as much of the useful knowledge that remanufacturers have told us they would like to have in a class setting such as this."
James Crabtree, a technician with Laser Plus, attended the first Training Center. "I was looking to learn trouble-shooting," said Crabtree. "SCC's Training Center definitely helped me locate potential problems and help me solve them."
"I also liked the fact that we went into so much detail with the HP5000," continued Crabtree. "We haven't seen any 5000s yet and it was great to learn the remanufacturing steps before they start coming in."
Also in attendence was Donna Buyers, production supervisor at Laser Recharge of North Carolina. "What really impressed me was the limited class size which gave us true one-on-one training," said Buyers.
In addition to instructor expertise, participants were also able to capitalize on SCC's extensive print material. "We received handouts, technical manuals, system support material and course reference material," said Crabtree.
