Newly Formed 3I Enables Recyclers To Move Quickly into Quality Color Cartridge Recycling

Atlanta, Ga. — Graphicone (Green Technology Supplies) of France and JetMax, Inc. of the United States announce the formation of a new company, Ink jet and Imaging Innovations (3i). 3I formalizes the two-year alliances between Graphicone and JetMax, Inc. Jos Westhovens of Graphicone and Michael (Mick) Carlotta of JetMax, Inc. are principals in the company, offering imaging products, services, processes and supplies to the color imaging and cartridge refurbishing industries.

"3I has equipment, supplies and processes to recycle black and color cartridges, even the difficult HP's like the 51641, C1823 and the C6578," says Carlotta. 3I also offers a quality approach to extended ink supply systems replacing color and black ink cartridges such as the HP51645, HP51641, C1823 and the C6578 and others.

3I's unique Tri-System Recycling Process offers a total solution. "We specify all steps of the recycling process with production controls, including proper incoming cartridge inspection and storage, specialized cleaning process, ink and foam dynamics, adapted filling methods (to withstand high altitude shipping) and correct packaging of the final product," Westhovens said. "We have developed a flexible color filling system for all types of color cartridges from four to 12 cartridges at a time so the customer can achieve aggressive goals without spending months or years on color recycling development."

"When you remove the foam, like we do, you can see why refilling d'es not work," comments Mick Carlotta. "Over 60 percent of brokered cartridges have some form of cross-color contamination explaining why refillers have an inconsistent quality _ severe batch-to-batch variations. Our process takes this problem right out the equation."

Extensive research and development along with a search for the best recycling supplies and equipment laid the groundwork for 3I's total solution. When the foam is replaced and is auto-filled with 3I's high quality ink, the resulting print quality matches the 'EM on plain, coated, photo and transparency medias.

Westhovens and Carlotta are industry veterans with a combined 34 years of experience in the imaging industry and are listed as the inventors on more than 20 U.S. and international patents relating to 'EM ink jet and imaging products. 3I's extensive 'EM and aftermarket design experience, as well as its significant investment in recycling research and development, enables quality-conscience manufacturers to quickly grab market share.
