Kimberly-Clark Printing Expands Digital Imaging Inks Business Unit

Escondido, Calif. — Kimberly-Clark Printing Technology Inc. announces the recent expansion of its Escondido, Calif.-based digital imaging inks business unit. Rising demand for its Formulabs brand ink jet inks, for desktop, wide-format and special applications, brought an increase in sales volume approaching 80 percent in 1999, and it continues to grow during 2000.

Escalating sales and a heightened customer focus led the company to add and reassign personnel to manage sales, customer service and technical support in this high-growth market segment. New managerial positions were created for market development, worldwide sales and customer service. In addition, responsibility for Asia-Pacific and Latin America accounts was divided, with a specific account manager assigned to each territory.

John Blake continues as general manager/digital imaging inks. Prior to his position with Kimberly-Clark Printing Technology, which originated with Kimberly-Clark Corporation's acquisition of Formulabs, Inc. in early 1998, he had been Formulabs' vice president of marketing for 12 years.

Robert Baydo has been named market development manager/digital imaging inks, responsible for business strategy, product development and marketing. He had been Asia-Pacific and Latin America account manager/digital imaging inks for more than two years. Since joining the company in September 1994 as a chemist, Baydo had also managed sales, product development and technical support of desktop ink jet inks.

David Rice has been named manager of worldwide sales/digital imaging inks. He brings 25 years of ink and ink-related sales experience to the position, most recently managing sales of Formulabs' brand writing inks for five years. David Carnes continues as North America, Europe and Australia account manager/digital imaging inks. He has held this position since joining the company nearly four years ago.

Mark Mallgrave has been promoted to Latin America account manager/digital imaging inks and worldwide account manager/ribbon inks. He had been Latin America account manager for ribbon inks for two years.

Reg Whatley joined Kimberly-Clark Printing Technology in March as Asia-Pacific account manager/digital imaging inks. He has 25 years of sales experience, primarily in computer hardware systems, most recently as western regional sales manager of NEC's (Nippon Electronics Corporation) Computer Systems Division.

Michele Siglin, recently appointed customer service manager, had been special projects manager for two years. She is responsible for all domestic and international customer service activities, maintaining excellence in service to all of the company's ink customers.
