LaserLand Releases New Pins and Removal Tools

Sylvan Lake, Mich. — LaserLand is pleased to announce its new 4000-Pin™. The 4000-Pin is used to hold the waste toner hopper to the toner hopper in the HP 4000 cartridge.

Unlike the headless OEM pins, the 4000-Pin has a double, recessed head. The design saves about 20 seconds in removing the pin, according to LaserLand President Steven B. Michlin. The recessed head minimizes scratches on the toner cartridge. The new 4000-Pin is different from the old 4000-Pin in that both the left and right pins are identical. The 4000-Pin is protected by patent number 5,390,002.

8100-Pin, 8100-PullerTool and Recovery Blade

Sylvan Lake, Mich. — Remanufacturers have reported being by the removal of the holding pins on the HP-8100 toner cartridge. Part of the problem is that the pins are fully embedded in the toner cartridge making it difficult for the remanufacturer to remove. Forcing the pins in breaks the stop inside the toner cartridge and ocassionally scratchs the drum or magnetic roller.

LaserLand's recently released 8100-Pin™ replacement pin is tapered at one end for easier installation. The opposite end has a bore with a thread for easier removal with the 8100-Puller™. The 8100-Pin and 8100-Puller are patent pending.

LaserLand also recently released a new UserFriendly™ Recovery blade specifically for the HP-8100 toner cartridge.

L-TipGrip™ Needlenose Pliers

Sylvan Lake, Mich. — LaserLand's new L-TipGrip Needlenose pliers helps remanufacturers efficiently remove the holding pins in many toner cartridges. Often, in the removal process, the pin gets pushed in farther, leaving even less space to grab the pin.

Side cutters require awkward movements and nipper cutters are difficult to use with small pins.

The L-TipGrip Needlenose pliers do not require awkward motion and the tip does not interfere with the pin removal process. The L-TipGrip Pliers has two needlenose, L-shaped tips. The design grabs as well as nipper pliers does and works well in very small areas. The region where the two L-tips press are made of a gripping surface. The functionally robust design of steel alloy does not easily wear.

Samples of many LaserLand products are available.
