Depot America Selected as Printer Exchange Services Provider

Neptune, N.J. — Canon Computer Systems, Inc. choose Depot America, a leading fourth party maintainer of desktop printer sub-assemblies, as its vendor for printer exchange services.

Now, when customers contact Canon's call center regarding Bubble Jet printers covered under their Instant Exchange and SelectExchange™ warranties, Canon will process the product exchange through Depot America and Canon Bubble Jet owners will benefit from Depot America's superior service. The new service reinforces Depot America's position as a premier force in the ink jet printer market.

"Canon is committed to providing the highest quality service to assure customer satisfaction throughout the life of the products," said Larry Hardin, director of service for Canon Computer Systems, Inc. "We are very excited to partner with Depot America because they understand and share that same level of commitment. Furthermore, Depot's excellent systems capabilities significantly improve our ability to proactively provide customer service and support status to our customers."

According to Robert Leonard, vice president of sales and marketing, the recognition of Depot America as a National Repair Facility carries great implications.

"Our long-standing relationship with Canon has lead to this strategic partnership that allows Depot America to offer this unique level of customer service," Leonard said. "We'll be welcoming many new printer repairs each month, and we are thrilled to continue delivering the quality of service guarantees that Canon's customers expect and deserve."

The process for repairs will begin at Canon. "If Canon ink jet printer customers experience a problem with their new printer, they will call Canon," said Leonard. "The call center then activates the level of service needed, and sends the exchange order to us. We quickly fulfill an exchange and send the end user a working printer the same business day in most cases."

Paul McGovern, service program manager for Depot America, said that this new relationship means that Canon trusts Depot America to deliver the same level of customer support and satisfaction for which Canon is known. According to McGovern, customers will be encouraged to report their experiences to Canon. "We will ultimately be graded on our service. Canon's customers are accustomed to superior service, and we have the track record that proves we know how to deliver it."

To accommodate this influx, Depot America is leasing 8,000 extra square feet of office space and hiring 15 new employees. "We're excited by this new challenge, and realize that we were selected by Canon because of our flexible systems architecture, which enables seamless integration with EDS and our renowned customer service programs," McGovern concluded.

Depot America Inc. is one of the world's leading suppliers of printer remanufacturing.
