TeamOn.com Upgrades Service to Offer Advanced Collaboration Features for Small Businesses

SEATTLE — TeamOn.com (http://www.teamon.com), provider of the leading Web-based office platform for small businesses, has upgraded its online office service to offer small businesses more powerful, flexible collaboration capabilities. New features, including the Guest Team Member function and easy set-up Wizards, give small businesses the ability to work more effectively in teams or groups, with shared online workspaces available for anywhere, anytime collaboration with anyone who has Web access, even those outside of their company.

"A huge problem that small businesses face is the ability to access and share company files and information away from the office," said Shirish Nadkarni, founder and CEO of TeamOn.com. According to a study by Arthur Andersen, although 88 percent of small businesses have computers, only 39 percent have a network - and only 15 percent of those companies have the capability to access their network from outside of their offices (Source: 8th Annual Survey of Small and Mid-Sized Business, Arthur Andersen, 2000).

"TeamOn offers small businesses a solution that enables them to collaborate and share information without an in-house network," stated Nadkarni. As an addition to a robust set of Web-based collaboration tools, the new Guest Team Member feature allows any small business to invite members from outside their organization, as well as those within, to be an active part of the team. By using TeamOn, small businesses can create online workspaces to collaborate and share information with anyone who has an e-mail address.

"The ability to collaborate with team members outside their company is crucial for small businesses," Nadkarni said," since they often need to outsource functions like accounting, human resources or marketing. TeamOn offers a secure forum for collaboration, and gives companies the control to allow outsiders access to only the project-specific information."

TeamOn's team workspaces also include several unique features meant to help small businesses maintain business relationships that involve ongoing discussions, living and changing documentation, scheduling meetings, or tracking the history and context of a project - all the while giving users anywhere and anytime access. TeamOn's new Quick Start Wizards make creating an online team easier than ever by walking users through the process.
