Static Control Delivers Two Timesaving Tools for Post-Testing the HP4500
SANFORD, N.C. Static Control has released an interlock override clip
and a toner applicator tool for the HP4500. These two tools streamline the testing
process for cartridges after they have been remanufactured, enabling users to
test their cartridges quickly and efficiently.
One of the issues with post-testing is the time it takes for the printer to
recalibrate each time a new cartridge has been inserted. The interlock override
clip has been designed to effectively override the printer's normal calibration
process. It fits securely in the slot on top of the printer under the toner
access cover and cuts the calibration time dramatically. This saves up to three
minutes each time a user inserts a new cartridge. This test is not intended
to be used to produce prints for the purpose of mixed color evaluation on a
scientific level.
The new Toner Applicator Tool makes post-testing HP4500 cartridges easier and
cleaner. Once a cartridge has been sealed, it is difficult to test if the cartridge
is mechanically sound. The Toner Applicator Tool disperses a three-gram layer
evenly along the front of the toner adder roller. This allows a user to test
for defects and ensures that they have sufficient toner to generate necessary
test pages. The Toner Applicator Tool also helps ensure no residual toner, which
can leak or spread during shipping and handling.
"We developed these tools to facilitate the remanufacturing process,"
said Fred McIntosh, product development manager. "Our engineers have had
to deal with the same time lags and test print issues as any remanufacturer,
and it slows up business. We created solutions to eliminate the difficulties
our engineers were experiencing and felt it was important to share these solutions
with the rest of industry."
