Static Control Improves the WX/5Si Insertion Press and Removal Press

SANFORD, N.C. — Static Control Components (SCC) re-cently released up-dated versions of the WX/5Si mag roller insertion press and mag roller removal press. Static Control improved these presses to make it even easier to insert and remove mag roller sleeves. Both of these presses are also fully qualified for the HP 8100.

Static Control engineers improved the WX/5Si mag roller insertion press by lengthening the press lever to provide better leverage. This new spring-loaded lever eliminates the need to recalibrate the press.

“More importantly,” said Michael Cox, Static Control product manager, “the spring-loaded lever reduces, if not eliminates, damage to the roller because it does not apply excess pressure.”

Remanufacturers can assemble remanufactured or factory-new mag roller sleeves in a simple one-handed operation. This precision installation greatly diminishes the risk of out-of-round defects that can cause print problems. Constructed

of heavy-duty aluminum, the WX/5Si mag roller insertion press is designed

for non-stop performance in demanding recharging operations.

The improved WX/5Si mag roller removal press now has a rubber liner to facilitate the gripping action and reduce the possibility of over-clamping, which can damage the mag roller sleeve. The outer rim of the press is also protected with felt to help eliminate denting or scratching when inserting the roller into the clamp. Easy to operate and calibrated for precision, the WX/5Si removal press will save remanufacturers time and money in mag roller processing operations.
