LG Chemical America Inc. Announces Multiple New Product Releases for 2004

CERRITOS, Calif. — LG Chemical recently announced immediate availability of two new toner products. LG Chemical has completed and successfully launched compatible toners for use in the Brother TN 200 and 250 series fax machines, and announced a product introduction for laser printers as well. LG Chemical America Inc. simultaneously announced a compatible toner for the Lexmark Optra T622 series laser printers.

LG Chemical America Inc.’s vice president at its new office in Cerritos is Seong-Bae Park. Park said, “We are off to an early start in 2004 with new product releases. Last year was a planning and development year for LG Chemical, but after much study of the market, many discussions with our customers and the hard work and dedication of our research and development department, we are ready this year to strive to become the preferred supplier of high-quality toner to the remanufacturing industry.”

LG Chemical’s focus on new product development is evident in the number and types of products planned for release this year. Bruce Yoon, senior marketing manager at the Cerritos office, said, “LG Chemical needs to listen to the customer and deliver products and services that enhance doing business with LG Chemical. For this reason we announce the (upcoming) availability of HP 4600 compatible color toners. This has been the most-requested product from our customers. Lack of availability on new products or unacceptable quality is a big problem for remanufacturers. We cannot speak for drum, chip and other component manufacturers, but we are committed to bringing high-quality, highly demanded new toners to market in a time-sensitive manner.”

Enhancing services to customers will also play a large role in LG Chemical America Inc.’s plans for 2004. Maria Greco, vice president of toner for LG Chemical America, said, “We have spent a lot of time in finding ways to improve logistics. It’s not enough to have a strong product line. We must be able to deliver the product to our customers more cost effectively and with reduced lead time. To enhance delivery times and reduce costs we have partnered with Translogistics, an independent logistics company located in Royersford, Pa. Additional improvements being considered include the addition of East Coast distribution points to further reduce delivery time to the customers, while reducing freight cost.

“We are currently working to have all toner documentation available on our Web site and feel strongly this will be a great enhancement and benefit to our customers,” Greco said. “Our plan is to have launch packages for each toner introduction available on our Web site. We are planning to deliver HP 4600 documentation via our Web site by the end of March.

“We are also focused on the type of customers we would like to work with. We are very excited to be supplying our toner to a global OEM. Although confidentiality does not allow me to disclose the customer, we are very proud that the products we manufacture meet the exacting demands of OEMs. With all of the pieces in place, we expect 2004 to be a year of unprecedented success. With the availability of many new product introductions, especially HP 4600 color, we expect more customers to make the move to LG Chemical,” she said.
