MKG Takes ISO 9000 Certification to the Next Level

MISSISSAGUA, Ontario — MKG Cartridge Systems announced that it has now successfully upgraded its ISO 9000 registration to the stringent ISO 9001:2000 standard.

“We are proud to be able to enhance our quality systems to achieve this more complex and demanding standard,” said MKG’s Director of Manufacturing Mehdi Oskui. “It reflects our passionate commitment  consistently to build the best possible cartridges for our customers.”

MKG was one of the first compatible cartridge manufacturers to develop and introduce an ISO quality-assurance system, achieving ISO 9002 in 1996. The company “aced” its last two ISO audits, with auditors identifying no deficiencies in MKG’s quality systems. “We felt it was time to raise our standards even higher,” Oskui said.

Covered by the new, more demanding standard are two additional modules: “Preventive Actions” and “Customer-Focused Needs and Requirements.” These new modules extend a formal, systematic approach to quality to cover the way the company serves its customers on a day-to-day, transaction-by-transaction basis.

“The new standard formalizes our team approach to service, and gives us specific tools and measurement systems to help us meet each customer’s specific needs,” said Sales and Marketing Manager Valerie Clark. “Working to the ISO 9001:2000 standard will take us far beyond simply saying ‘our goal is customer satisfaction.’ It creates an elevated level of intimacy with our customers, which will enable us to anticipate needs, avoid problems and develop solutions on a customer-by-customer basis. It takes our service program to the next level.”

MKG was approved for ISO 9001:2000 certification on Dec. 19, 2003, after a two-day audit. The company began introducing programs to implement the standard in September 2003.
