ERS Names Patrick H. Faller Its New President
ERIE, Pa. Terry Daidone, Environmental Reclamation Services CEO, announced the appointment of Patrick H. Faller as president of the company. An Erie native, Faller is a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and attended Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, before graduating from Palm Beach Atlantic College in Palm Beach, Fla. He and his wife, Mary, who is also an Erie native, have two children, M. Katherine and Patrick Jr.
"The addition of Patrick to our management team further emphasizes ERS commitment to the Erie area," said Daidone. "Besides his strong business background, one of his personal attributes is a strong tie to the Erie community. He will play a key role in planning for the new facility that will house our core recycling business as well as the FundingFactory division."
Prior to joining ERS, Faller was vice president of human resources for New Piper Aircraft Inc. in Vero Beach, Fla. where he was part of a management team charged with resurrecting the bankrupt company. Within six years the company was restored. Employment rose from 300 to more than 1,500, and today Piper continues to be a leader in the aviation industry.
Wishing to return to the Erie area, in 2001 Faller accepted a position with J.L. Nick and Associates as a senior consultant. He has worked with clients within the manufacturing, healthcare and insurance sectors. Faller also has developed and facilitated educational workshops and seminars for a variety of subjects ranging from basic supervisory training to more complex topics such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
In a related move, Daidone also announced that David Steffens, former ERS president, will become chief operating officer for the company.
"In order for ERS to continue to grow our base business and take full advantage of other related opportunities, such as battery revitalization, it was necessary to put Dave in a position where he had a greater view of the market environments that we are addressing," said Daidone. "At the same time, we had to make certain that our core business didnt skip a beat. The two management changes accomplished both requirements."
Battery revitalization will be incorporated into ERS base business.
"The totally new battery revitalization business venture will be spun off as a separate operating division, but it will integrate seamlessly into the ERS core business," Daidone continued. "An alpha facility is being developed in Cranberry Township within 30 days. A beta facility will be up and running this spring in Erie. This new endeavor is expected to create 25 to 30 new jobs within the next year and will continue to add more jobs each year as this new business expands. All of this is in addition to the 60-plus jobs committed to by ERS once the new printer cartridge and cell phone recycling facility in Erie is complete."
Environmental Reclamation Services Inc. is one of the worlds largest reverse logistics/recycling firms providing empty laser and inkjet printer cartridges and used cell phones to those respective remanufacturing industries. The companys recycling programs include laser and inkjet cartridges of every brand from Apple to Xerox, as well as cell phone models including Motorola, Audiovox, Ericsson, Nokia and others.
