Calidad Releases Chip Resetter for Epson Cartridges
SYDNEY, Australia Calidad, a leading alternative cartridge and refiller manufacturer, has released a chip resetter for Epson cartridges. When applied to the cartridge, it resets the chip and allows for the refilling of ink.
"Its a great product. You can reset Epson chipped cartridges hundreds of times, and by refilling with Calidad ink, youll save up to 80 percent on the cost of original cartridges," Calidad Managing Director Robin Kenyon said.
Currently, Epson produces ink cartridges that, when empty, send a message to the printer to shut down until another new Epson cartridge is loaded. In the past when customers would refill one of these cartridges with ink, a chip would still indicate "empty" and, consequently, the printer would not function.
The need for Calidad to release a chip resetter is another example of original cartridge manufacturers attempts to minimize the impact alternative manufacturers like Calidad are having on their sales.
"We love this sort of challenge," Kenyon said. "The more they try to make it hard for us to refill cartridges, the better it is for Calidad, and the more consumers love an Aussie battler like Calidad taking on the big guns and winning!"
Calidads chip resetter is available separately or as a starter pack, which includes the resetter, a 988-BK black refill and a 988-TRIO color refill.
