Cartridge Conservation Expands Multi Rack Line

SOLDIERS POINT, Australia – Cartridge Conservation debuted four products in its Multi Rack line at World Expo 2004 in Las Vegas. The Multi Rack cartridge holding system is known for securely holding a range of cartridges, not just one. Cartridge Conservation’s newest products include a Lexmark rack, two PCR racks and a mag roller rack.

"All of these racks have evolved from customer requests," said Terry Mehan, company director and designer. "The Lexmark rack is our response to the ever-growing number of remanufacturers doing the Lexmark range of cartridges. This rack does all of the Optra S, T, 610, 612 and similarly shaped cartridges.

"As is usual for our Multi Racks, the rack will hold both halves of the cartridge, and you can spin it on your bench to work on either half," Mehan said. "There are two bonuses for the Lexmark rack. The first is that the waste bin is angled so that you can move the PCR flap and access the top edge of the wiper to cut and remove it with no waste spills. The second feature is on the toner hopper side. The toner hopper sits down toward the technician for easy removal of the developer roller but then can rotate up 45 degrees to gain easy visual access to clean the doctor bar.

"What we’ve done with our PCR and mag roller racks is to totally move away from the vertical storage method," continued Mehan. "To use this older style of rack, techies have to use a pinch grip method while they are trying to line up the holes to get the PCRs or mag rollers in and out of the rack. Continually using this type of grip can lead to repetitive strain injury and other OHS issues. Our racks can also save damage to mag rollers because there is less chance of them clanging together. Each rack holds 10 items and by turning the next rack at 90 degrees to the rack below, all of these racks are totally stackable with each other. Our PCR racks are also able to hold Lexmark developer rollers."

In addition to these new releases, Cartridge Conservation has upgraded its Multi Rack B (for HP 2100, HP 4000/4100, HP 5000 and Canon GP 160) to take the HP 2300.
