Image Specialists Opens New Production Facility
HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. – Image Specialists Inc., in a move to meet the growing demand for its high-quality desktop and wide-format inkjet inks, has completed construction and started operations in an inkjet manufacturing plant on its four-acre Long Island campus.
At its new facility, Image Specialists will blend and mix raw materials (water, pigments, dyes and other fixing agents) using an efficient, program-driven methodology. The company’s systems are based on more than three decades of ink manufacturing experience and rely heavily on documentation, testing and verification for product consistency and reliable print performance. All processes are front- and back-end integrated with Image Specialists’ computerized materials register, product inventory and customer-service systems.
Image Specialists’ new ink plant is designed to have a benign effect on the surrounding natural environment. A dust-collection module effectively siphons and accumulates residual airborne dyes and pigments for eventual clean disposal, and waste water is flushed through troughs underneath the flooring and then aggregated in a large holding tank for sequential evaporation to prevent ground and water-table contamination.
