Spectra Appoints Joel Wood as VP and GM of New Business Unit

LEBANON, N.H. – Spectra Inc. has named Joel Wood vice president and general manager of its newly formed Spectra Jetting Components (SJC) Business Unit. Previously, Wood served as vice president of operations for the company.

Wood reports to CEO Robert Rosenblum in the Spectra Printing Division and will be responsible for engineering, operations and the design and supply of print head products, attendant component systems and ink.

"Under Joel’s leadership, the quality of our products and ability to ship significantly greater volumes with dramatically reduced lead time and higher yield has increased considerably," Rosenblum said. "Joel firmly understands the competitive landscape, and we are relying on his considerable expertise and inventiveness to help get us to the next level of organizational and operational performance."

"As Spectra continues to expand, providing a superior and reliable product must be enhanced with our ability to respond to our customers’ changing needs and dynamic market opportunities," Wood said. "My intent is to build on our current momentum and to introduce new initiatives to maintain our leadership in our established markets while aggressively pursuing new opportunities."

Wood joined Spectra in 1999 from Rockwell Automation where he was director of operations for the motion and information group. He has worked in operations management at several Rockwell Automation manufacturing facilities where he focused on electronic and mechanical assembly processes.

His strong operations background has been honed over 25 years of engineering and manufacturing assignments with Rockwell Automation and General Motors Corp.

Wood earned a Master of Science in engineering management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from General Motors Institute.
