Static Control Releases Aftermarket Components for HP 2600 Printers

SANFORD, N.C. — Static Control Components has introduced the first complete color component solution for the HP 2600 printer, including dedicated color toner, universal chips, wiper blades and rigid insertable seals. This solution enables customers to immediately begin remanufacturing these cartridges.

“The release of our complete color components for the HP 2600 takes on the complex challenges put forth by the OEM cartridge design and successfully guides our customers through the process of remanufacturing these very popular cartridges,” said Bill Bjork, product marketing manager at SCC. “This is the next generation of color printers from HP and the ability to quickly penetrate this market will have a huge impact on every remanufacturer.”

Along with dedicated toner and wiper blades, Static Control has developed two processes to quickly and economically remove the OEM drum without damaging other vital components.

“Our affordable automatic drum removal tool is designed for large-volume production,” Bjork said. “We also offer a low-cost manual cutting fixture that is much more precise than attempting to cut drums freehand.”

In addition, SCC has designed a drum replacement system, which makes the installation process quick and easy.

SCC also offers a Printdetect chip solution, featuring Total System Emulation (TSE), for the HP 2600.

“Only SCC can offer TSE, the industry’s first solution for the HP 2600’s high-level secure authentication system,” said Bjork. “Our electronics experts, custom technology and capital equipment allow us to engineer and design these custom chips.”

Printdetect technology enables SCC chips to automatically determine the printer engine it is installed into, initializes the required printer settings and provides full printer functionality. With Printdetect technology remanufacturers can build a single cartridge that is compatible with multiple printer engines using just one cartridge and just one chip.

Static Control’s TSE process of reverse engineering encompasses every facet of the system: printer firmware, printer electronics and OEM chip design. TSE gives the highest level of protection against future pre-determined firmware updates.
