SME Releases Inkjet Factory System to Retailers
FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Southeastern Manufacturing Enterprise is offering the once-proprietary Inkjet Factory to the retail market. Providing unsurpassed print quality and page yield, this turnkey, high-capacity “factory” integrates comprehensive testing, cleaning and refilling in a single unit.
This newest model comes equipped with built-in features — tester, centrifuge, atomizer and a unique deep vacuum fill function — yet another differentiator of the new Inkjet Factory.
The built-in tester allows for pre- and post-testing of the inkjet cartridge. The pre-test step checks the circuit boards and nozzles, weeding out non-functional cartridges. This ensures that only good cartridges are earmarked for refilling, saving the retailer time and money. The post-filling tester verifies the quality of the print output and ensures that all jets on each cartridge are in working order.
The integrated automated centrifuge evacuates old ink from the cartridge in under a minute. The universal loading feature eliminates time-consuming changeovers. The cartridge nozzles are then flushed using an atomized water jet system which eliminates any potential damage to the print heads, which can occur using other cleaning methods.
After preparatory steps, the cartridge is filled using a deep vacuum fill function. This automatic feature is fully programmable with an adjustable filling feature for cartridges, with capability of refilling up to 40 cartridges per hour.
“Our factory is the only inkjet refilling system in the world with these high-production features built in a single footprint,” said Lee K. Newsom, SME’s director of sales and marketing.
