ASTM Business Imaging Products Officers Election Results Announced
WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — ASTM International has announced the results of recent elections for officers of its F.05 Committee on Business Imaging Products.
Ink Technology’s Ray Kifer was elected committee chairman, Densigraphix’ Mitch Schwartz was elected vice chairman, International Imaging Technology Council’s Tricia Judge was elected secretary and AEG Photoconductor’s Thomas Schank was elected membership secretary.
These officers will serve their term from Jan. 1, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2009. The F.05 committee has been responsible for developing and publishing test methods that are now being used by OEM and aftermarket producers of imaging supplies.
“This committee is comprised of rational, reasonable people, who offer great support,” said Kifer. “It is not a chore to chair this committee.”
Schwartz has been a member of ASTM International Committee F.05 Business Imaging Products for more than eight years and as a voting member for more than five years. This is his second term as an elected officer.
“I chose to get involved because there was and still is an OEM ‘members-only’ club. We need to create simple, easy-to-use, understand-and-implement testing procedures so that manufacturers, resellers and end users can see for themselves what works and what doesn’t work,” Schwartz said.
Judge begins her second term as secretary of the F.05 committee.
“I joined the committee to report on its progress, but was immediately enticed to become more than an observer,” she said. “The work this committee does insures that consumers, manufacturers and remanufacturers alike can determine which products live up to their quality claims.”
Over the years, committee members have developed friendships that serve as a valuable network for their respective businesses.
“Soon, after becoming a member, I recognized that I joined a group of highly motivated individuals which, with the support of their organizations, bring their dedication to the table in each and every task that we get involved with at ASTM F.05,” Schank said. “I joined ASTM to offer our resources and to support the industry. With all the parts and products, involved it certainly is a science to choose and to qualify the right systems for everyone out there.”
The F.05 Committee on Business Imaging Products meets twice each year, and invites new members, new ideas and new test methods.
“We need current members to become more active,” Schwartz said. “And we need new members to bring their ideas to the table.”
