Static Control Components Opens Hong Kong Subsidiary
SANFORD, N.C. — Static Control announced the formal opening of its new Hong Kong-based subsidiary. This wholly owned subsidiary will enable Static Control to service its large customer base in Southeast Asia directly from a fully stocked distribution base located in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong.
With 45,000 square feet of warehouse space located in Gateway Building, Tsuen Wan and a new office base at nearby Metro Plaza to accommodate its sales and support staff, Static Control is ready to ship and invoice direct using the U.S. dollar and local currencies to customers in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan. “This is a major investment and shows exactly how serious we are in supporting our customers in this region,” said Lawrence Kwan, Static Control’s new general manager for Southeast Asia.
Kwan’s expertise in the ink and laser cartridge business includes nine years as a senior manager at Ink Lab where he gained considerable expertise in the ink and laser cartridge business. Kwan is also very well known throughout the industry and the territory. His experienced sales team includes industry veterans Kam Woon, based in Manila, who covers Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia; Ron Palakawongse, who relocates to Bangkok from Static Control world headquarters in Sanford, N.C., where he has spent the last five years in international sales; Joseph Ewe, previously with Green Cartridge Company; and Yee Seto, who will head up technical support in this region. Static Control now has more than 20 personnel already in place in the new subsidiary, all of whom have had extensive training at Static Control offices in the U.S. and U.K.
Static Control is a manufacturer/distributor of parts and supplies for the laser cartridge and inkjet cartridge remanufacturing industry. More than 12,000 products are available, increasing by 55 new products (on average) per month. Multilingual digital video training programs are available to customers free of charge.
