Don Thompson Introduces New Printer Services and Seminars

Don ThompsonSANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Don Thompson, veteran trainer, author, technical advisor, and seminar presenter, has introduced new printer services and seminars.

“Since leaving Clover Technol-ogies Group, I have formed a new company, Don Thompson’s Service Solutions,” Thompson said. “The focus will be servicing printers and plotters as well as customized printer service training and consulting for technicians wherever needed.”

Thompson notes the obvious lack of color laser printer problem-solving strengths within some cartridge suppliers sales staff and sales rep groups. His new sales seminar offerings will include half- or full-day customized sessions, featuring recent HP Color LaserJets. Hands-on exercises focus on printing and evaluating test pages, calibration routines, correcting color mismatching, and fixing color plane registration issues. To cap the sessions Thompson will alert attendees about some very important machine design shortcomings, often confused with cartridge problems they are very likely to face in the field. Training of this type will bring consumers closer to cartridge suppliers while reducing returns of perfectly good product.

For many years, Thompson has provided the industry with first-class printer technical training from novice to advanced levels. Plans include expanding printer service training to provide information on new printer models. His free technical advice has helped many technicians solve printer problems quickly and effectively. Thompson will continue to welcome technical questions as a means of staying on top of increasingly complex and changing printer technologies and their related problems.
