UniNet Mourns Death of Partner, Friend Prashanth Makam

Makam_uninetLOS ANGELES — UniNet joined in mourning the tragic departure of its partner in India, Prashanth Makam, due to a massive heart attack on Oct. 12.

“We admired Prashanth for many things, but especially for his cleverness and great personality, and his full commitment to the advancement of the toner remanufacturing industry in India,” UniNet President Nestor Saporiti said.

Makam was born in Bangalore, India on February 19, 1968, married and father of a daughter and a son. He was a dedicated family man and had a tremendous respect and love for them. He was very well respected among his friends, family and the toner remanufacturing industry in India, and became publisher and editor of the Recharge India Magazine, a monthly trade publication inaugurated during the World Expo in August 2007. This publication was committed to create awareness about the imaging industry aftermarket in India.

Makam owned QP Prints, a company dedicated to producing and selling remanufactured cartridges and collecting empty cartridges for recyclers. He was also a committed member of the Indian Cartridge Remanufacturers and Recyclers Association (ICRRA).

In 2008, Makam was appointed to setting up operations as a UniNet distribution partner and general manager for UniNet India, a new project planned to establish this year.

“We express our most sincere condolences to his family and friends and we regret such a huge loss. He will be greatly missed,” Saporiti said.
