R&G Capital is First Sri Lankan Company to Earn STMC Status

WATTAL, SRI LANKA - R&G Capital, pioneers in re-engineering toners, has been qualified with Standardized Test Methods Committee (STMC) certification, the first time a Sri Lankan company has received such certification. John Marshall, chief technical officer and general manager technical services at Static Control, formally presented the STMC certificate to S.M. Godwin, chairman/managing director at R&G Capital.
R&G is also the third company in South Asia to receive the certification. Only a small fraction of companies have earned the STMC logo to display on their products, packaging and marketing materials.
SMTC was established to encourage and train companies to use standardized test methods in the production of remanufactured cartridges. The certification of the companies proves that those companies were properly and consistently using the test methods and thereby produce products of a higher standard.
Godwin, an entrepreneur and pioneer, has been in the imaging solutions industry since 1988. In 1992, he revolutionized the Sri Lankan printing solutions industry by forming the first company in Sri Lanka to offer alternate printing solutions to the original printing consumables. R&G Capital has more than 70 employees, a high-tech factory, fully-equipped workshop, a substantial portfolio of customers internationally certifications for the locally re-engineered printing solution.
“There are only 158 companies in the world that are STMC approved,” Godwin said. “Sri Lanka imports 50,000 to 60,000 cartridges every month spending a huge amount of money.”
