Easy Group Captures U.S. Army Award
IRWINDALE, Calif. — Easy Group LLC has been given an innovation research award by the U.S. Army for its efforts in developing a complete visual and near-infrared reflectance (NIR) inkjet camouflage management system.
Its NICIA (Near-Infrared Chemistry Increased-Load Adaptive-flow Ink and Software System) solution has been honored in response to the U.S. Army’s needs for a fast turnaround system that enables rapid camouflage item production for pattern evaluation purposes. The new complete system consists of inkjet-able ink with manageable NIR properties, inkjet printers for a variety of substrates (including textile direct-to-garment and nylon based materials) and its driving and management software. The final system will aim to perform automated visual and NIR matching to precise camouflage specifications.
The award was in response to Easy Group’s proposal of a solution to the PEO soldier program, which was seeking an inkjet solution for rapid deployment of region specific camouflage.
