The retail inkjet refilling market has got it all. It's profitable, consumers gladly pay essentially half price for the refilled cartridge over a brand new one, fresh cartridges are generally abundant and no cost, and running a recycling business scores many more “Green Points” than driving a Prius or putting a wind turbine in your yard.

OKI announced that it has posted extraordinary loss (loss on natural disasters) due to the flood damage in Thailand in its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012. OKI posted 2.7 billion yen for loss on fixed assets and inventories as well as recovery expenses as "loss on natural disasters" in its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012. OKI expects additional outlay until the facility resumes full-scale operations.

Mike Josiah of UniNet has instructions this month on “Remanufacturing HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color M551 Black and Color Toner Cartridges,” which are an all-in-one type of cartridge that consists of the toner supply, drum and waste chamber. New machines ship with full “A”-style LY cartridges, not starters.

Every legitimate remanufacturer should be outraged by these products, which are still getting into the North American marketplace and sabotaging the legitimate aftermarket. Their damage in international markets, such as Brazil, is even more severe.
