OKI Data Americas Secures Three-Year Contract Award With New York State

OKI Data Americas announced the procurement of a three-year contract with New York state for the installation of a selection of color and monochrome printers and multifunction devices. The contract incorporates 10 different office equipment product categories for workgroup printers and multifunction devices ranging from low- to high-end color and monochrome products. Under the contract, New York state executive agencies must purchase printers and related devices from the primary contractor, OKI Data, although they may purchase printers and related devices from the designated secondary contractor in special circumstances.

Konica Minolta Adds Simple Copy App to bizhub MarketPlace

Brother Industries Signs Agreement to Purchase the Document Imaging Business of Eastman Kodak

Brother Industries Ltd. announced that it has entered into an agreement with Eastman Kodak Company to acquire certain assets of Kodak's document imaging business. The agreement is the initial stalking horse bid under Section 363 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, to be followed by an orderly auction process under certain procedures set forth in the agreement. Under the agreement, Brother would acquire these assets for approximately US$210 million in cash subject to certain price adjustments, plus the assumption of specified liabilities. The transaction requires approval from U.S. bankruptcy court and is subject to a competitive bidding process under Section 363. The transaction is also subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Xerox this week announced a new program that would reward customers for buying its OEM-branded supplies. Named “Genuine Xerox Rewards,” the loyalty program offers consumers “cool gifts for purchasing genuine supplies.” Customers receive points, which can then be redeemed for gifts, travel and more. The OEM explains that “using genuine Xerox supplies is a smart business decision, as it protects the equipment and ensures years of reliable operation and quality output. HP Announces Changes to Board of Directors

Hewlett Packard’s new-look board of directors will still include former chairman Ray Lane, but longtime board members John Hammergren and G. Kennedy Thompson are moving on. Ralph Whitworth will hold down the chairman post on an interim basis while CEO Meg Whitman and the rest of the board begin the search for a permanent nonexecutive chairman to take Lane’s place.
