Greentec Now Collects Used Cell Phones

TORONTO – Greentec International is now buying used cell phones in addition to its core business of collecting and distributing empty printer cartridges. As an ISO 14001 company, this latest endeavor is consistent with Greentec’s ongoing dedication to the environment.

In 2005, 130 million cell phones will be retired from service, providing collectors with an opportunity to consolidate used handsets through existing channels. Greentec currently purchases 435 different cell phone models that span 14 major manufacturers such as Motorola, Nokia, Nextel, Audiovox, Ericcson, Samsung and Sprint. Prices paid can reach $50 for each qualified handset.

"Our strategy is simple," said Vice President Betty Pereira. "Being a one-stop shop allows us to best serve our suppliers. As the demand for cell phone collection has increased, we’ve worked to develop channels that support buying the broadest range of products at the highest possible price."

In business nearly a decade, Greentec International is a leader in the reverse distribution of used print cartridges. Greentec offers a broad selection of empty cartridges in the aftermarket and currently has more than 800 types of empty cartridges in stock and ready to ship. Each Greentec cartridge is pre-certified using Greentec’s industry-leading Production Ready process.
