With 58 shipping and receiving doors, this facility will provide products and services to Georgia, Alabama and East Tennessee with greater efficiency and reliability.
In addition to distribution technology and efficient delivery operations, the Austell facility reinforces Corporate Express’ commitment to the environment by meeting the company standard specifications for new buildings. Some key highlights of the new facility include:
- LEED certified Recycled Content Carpet Tiles.
- Programmable digital thermostats with night, weekend and holiday set-back modes to decrease energy consumption.
- Insulated warehouse roofing to minimize heat gain in summer months while retaining heat during the winter.
- Restrooms with automatic faucets, toilets and hand towel dispensers that cut paper use by 30%. Waterless urinals that decrease water consumption by 40,000 gallons per urinal, per year.
- 30% more efficient fluorescent high bay lighting installed throughout the warehouse with occupancy sensors, as well as wide blade fans and dock door bug screens to promote natural air ventilation and more efficient air movement.
- Motion sensors for all interior lighting in conference rooms, restrooms and other frequently unoccupied spaces, and photo cell circuits on all exterior lighting to ensure lighting is not used during daylight hours.
“We are genuinely excited about the opportunity to work in our new best-in-class facility,” said John Howe, Region Vice President of Operations for Corporate Express’s South Region. “It is a beautiful facility that will allow for tremendous growth in our market and provide immediate improvements in our productivity and quality.
