Electronic File Specifications

Acceptable Applications

Macintosh/PC Format

• Quark Xpress 6 or earlier
• Adobe Illustrator CS or earlier
• Adobe Photoshop CS or earlier
• Adobe InDesign CS or earlier

In addition to the above programs, ads can be submitted in the Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Acrobat PDF files must be in high resolution, CMYK and include at least 1/8-inch image bleed for full-bleed ads.

In any format other than Adobe Acrobat, fonts must be included. Only Postscript Type 1 fonts, no True Type fonts. If your ad uses True Type fonts, you must convert them to outlines/curves.

• Tagged-Image File Format (TIF)
• Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG)
• Macintosh Picture (PICT)
• Adobe Illustrator (AI)
• Adobe Photoshop (PSD)
• Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
• Windows Bitmap (BMP)
• Kodak PhotoCD (PCD)

General Specifications

• Photos must be CMYK (if color) or Grayscale.
• Photos must be 300 dpi.
• When supplying digital file from a page layout program, all links and fonts (Postscript fonts only) must be included.
• Files can be compressed into Zip (.zip) Binhex (.hqx) files or Stuffit (.sit) archives.
